With the newly updated COVID-19 protocols published by the CDC, HFRCS is now adjusting its policies to match the CDC, PA Department of Health, and Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Below is a summary of the new procedures we will follow for our staff and students.
Many of the situations depend on your vaccination status. To be "up to date" with your vaccines, you must have received your Pfizer Vaccines (within 5 months) or your Moderna Vaccines (within 6 months) or your Johnson and Johnson Vaccine (within 2 months) OR your booster shot on top of your initial vaccines.
If you are exposed to someone who is positive with COVID-19
- If you are up to date with your vaccinations, then there is no quarantine period as long you do not have any symptoms. Nurse Victoria will confirm your return.
- If you are NOT up to date with your vaccinations (see above), then you must quarantine for 5 days. Day 1 is the day after your exposure and you would be able to return on the 6th day. Nurse Victoria will confirm your return date with you.
If you live with a person(s) who has tested positive for COVID-19
- If you are up to date with your vaccinations, then there is no quarantine period and you are safe to return as long as you are symptom free. Nurse Victoria will confirm your return date.
- If you are NOT up to date with your vaccinations, then you would have to quarantine up to 10 days with Nurse Victoria being the one to confirm your actual return date.
If you test positive for COVID-19
- You will quarantine for at least 5 days and be able to return after that time period if you are free of fever and your overall symptoms have improved. Nurse Victoria will confirm your return date with you.
The best way to avoid any type of exposure to COVID-19 is to continue wearing a mask. Please remember that you must wear your mask in school. The rates are extremely high right now and it is imperative that we follow this expectation to keep everyone safe and healthy.
